Meet Jessica and Legend. Legend was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair, but nothing slows him down!  Jessica says he's full of life, joy and determination.  "Watching him grow has taught me more about strength than I ever thought possible" -Jessica.

Life hasn't always been easy for Jessica.  Both of her parents struggled with addiction and she followed that same path when she was just 17 years old.  For years Jessica battelled this disease until she took charge of her life and knew she wanted something better for herself and her child. 

When Jessica got clean, she started over from scratch.  She got a job at McDonald's and worked her way up step by step- until she became department manager.  She's proud of how far she's come and strives to show Legend that no matter how hard life gets, you can always rise again.

When Jessica learned about Habitat for Humanity she knew this was the opportunity she'd been waiting for.  Being chosen as a Habitat partner family has meant everything to Jessica and Legend. Owning a home, especially one that's wheelchair accessible means safety, stability, and it gives this family a place that will always be their own.
