Why we need more help this year than ever:
Our 2025 NWA Pride Weekend (including the Trans March and Pride parade) are at risk this year due to changes in long-time sponsorships. This is directly related to the deletion of corporate DEI programs and the political villainization of our community.
Why I care so much:
Growing up in Fayetteville was the best thing that could have happened to me, in part because I directly benefited from the investments made by local companies in our educational programs and arts facilities. These same companies have also been long-time partners in NWA Pride weekend.
While Fayetteville's magic comes from the people, I still feel a deep connection with the sponsors who have helped grow our Arkansas cities and the comparatively inclusive culture of NWA. That they have chosen to restrict their involvement this year is deeply disappointing.
And I feel betrayed.
My involvement with NWA Equality over the last few years has been a way for me to give back to Fayetteville (and NWA at large), the city that provided me a safe space to grow up and proudly become who I am today. My mission is to ensure everyone in our community has access to the resources, support, and joy they deserve.
How you can help:
This year, we are relying more than ever on grassroots donations since we can no longer count on our large donors.
Please make a donation today! Any amount will help us deliver the Pride Weekend that NWA deserves and has come to expect.
It is vital to cultivate openness and safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. If we don't fight together for these spaces and moments, others WILL try to erase us.
