As I celebrate 20 years of serving Northwest Arkansas’ LGBTQ community and 14 years with NWA Equality, from volunteer scraping together donations through drag shows to board president and now as a full-time employee, the journey has been an extraordinary honor. I’ve witnessed our community grow at an incredible and incomprehensible rate, from an estimated 3,000 to over 50,000 LGBTQ-identifying residents.
A crucial part of our mission at NWA Equality involves connecting our community members to LGBTQ-affirming healthcare providers. Today, 25% of our resources are devoted to this vital service. With your support during our NWA Gives campaign, we can enhance these referral services and continue fostering a supportive environment for LGBTQ residents. Join us in making a lasting impact.
