As chairman of the Friends of the Yvonne Richardson Community Center and a true believer in its mission to support the underserved in our community, I would like to invite you to participate in our Adopt-A-Kid Campaign. Each dollar received goes toward programming, scholarships and access to a safe and enriching environment where kids can have fun, learn and grow to their full potential. The center was my safe haven when I was kicked out of my home and into the streets at 15. I was connected with a community and adopted by a loving family, Tonya and Henry Childress. Both save my life and gave me the love, direction and purpose I needed to be who I am today. The commitment and the vision we have for the YRCC is strong and everything we do is with the intent of teaching confidence and resilience to kids in hopes that they lead enriching lives and eventually pay it forward to others in need. It's an exciting time at the YRCC and I invite you to be a part of it!
