ABOUT NWA GIVES

Inspiring Generosity to Meet the Needs of Northwest Arkansas

NWA Gives is a 501©3 nonprofit led by the NWA Gives Board of Directors. NWA Gives launched in the Spring of 2018 and hosted the first NWA Gives Day of Giving on April 5th, 2018.  The first regional day of giving had 115 nonprofits participate from across Benton and Washington county. Collectively they raised $208,000 in 12 hours!

Seeing the heart for giving in NWA and the potential to inspire generosity to meet the needs in the community, they invited other strategic partners to join the team to help grow and expand NWA Gives.

In the five years since NWA Gives was created, over 500 local nonprofit organizations have raised close to $3.5 million to support their vital community services. Northwest Arkansas has hundreds of nonprofits that aim to improve the lives of its residents. These organizations range from multimillion dollar professionally run institutions to small 100% volunteer run charities that aim to improve local problems. No matter how they are run or who they serve, nonprofits can only thrive if they raise funds to support their work. A large portion of these funds come from the general public. Without this revenue stream, local nonprofits can’t accomplish their missions. From homeless shelters to community literacy initiatives, nonprofits in NWA contribute to making our region stronger!

What began as a Giving Day has grown into a year round network of support for our organizations. One of the signature emphases of NWA Gives is providing fundraising training and resources to nonprofits in NWA.  With the help of our financial supporters we are able to offer our nonprofits world class training through our partnerships with local nonprofit professionals. As these nonprofits are growing in their ability to connect with financial partners in the area, they are one step closer to accomplishing the vision of meeting needs in our area.

Our vision is to see NWA become one of the most generous communities on earth!
