Our Mission

The mission of Send A Smile Today® is to let cancer patients know they are never alone by regularly mailing uplifting greeting cards: from time of cancer diagnosis - through treatment - to survivorship. Cards are mailed monthly to ANYONE of ANY age with ANY TYPE of cancer in the United States and are meant to provide hope, love and support.

Our NWA Gives Goal is to Raise $5,000

Any donation of $5 or more helps us reach our goal. Donate $10 or more from 8:00 a.m. CST March 27 - 8:00 p.m. CST April 3 and you will automatically be entered into the Send A Smile Today® prize drawing (one entry per person) to win one of the following prizes: 

1)  Kendra Scott Earrings Livy Huggies in Gold (special thanks to the Kendra Scott store in the Roger's Pinnacle Hills Promenade)

2)  $20 Gift Card (we are giving away 5 gift cards to 5 different winners! Starbucks, Visa, Walmart, DoorDash and Chick-fil-A)

3)  Send A Smile Today tote bag with coffee mug & pens

We will announce the winners on our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn socials at 9:00 p.m. CST April 3, 2025. Winners will be notified directly by email by 10:00 p.m. CST on April 3.

About Us

Since its inception in 2013, Send A Smile Today® has mailed over 50,000 heartfelt greeting cards to more than 5,000 people facing cancer in all 50 states. Send A Smile Today® is supported by generous donations of handmade uplifting greeting cards, A9 self-sealing envelopes, Forever postage stamps and monetary contributions. These donations allow us to send cards each month to individuals fighting cancer who have signed up on our website sendasmiletoday.org. There is no cost to sign up for these cards, as our dedicated donors fully fund the operation. Our founder, Kim Whitehouse, a 14-year breast cancer survivor, started this initiative to offer encouragement to those with cancer. Kim is a mother of two grown children and lives in Bentonville, AR with her husband, Allen, and their two cats.
