Partners for Better Housing

OUR HISTORY: In 2007 Partners for Better Housing emerged from a grassroots movement aimed at addressing the critical need for quality, affordable housing in Northwest Arkansas. Recognizing the growing need for housing and its impact on vulnerable populations, a group of volunteers were formed to create a sustainable solution evidenced within the organization’s first development, Homes at Willow Bend. Over the years, Partners has evolved significantly, expanding it’s reach and remaining steadfast to promote a mixed-income community, attainable housing, and housing opportunities for stable modest and moderate-income individuals.

OUR MISSION: We build partnerships that create housing and upward mobility opportunities for modest- and moderate-income families.

OUR APPROACH: We foster community partnerships, develop mixed-income housing neighborhoods, and facilitate paths to prosperity. 

OUR PROGRAMS:

1. Step Up to Homeownership: We contribute to families’ long-term economic stability by providing personalized guidance, resources, and educational workshops that go beyond the basics of homebuying. We equip individuals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence necessary to navigate the complexities of homeownership whether the outcomes equate to tenant readiness, financial stability, or homeownership.
2. Fast Track to Homeownership: We offer first-time homebuyers with down-payment and/or closing costs to remove barriers to homeownership for households at or below 100% of the Median Family Income (MFI) for the Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers Metropolitan Statistical Area. 
3. Homes at Willow Bend: We are a Community Housing Development organization certified by the State of Arkansas to develop and build new affordable housing. Our flagship development, Homes at Willow Bend, is an innovative mixed-income neighborhood that includes market-rate and affordable homeownership. Willow Bend is a first-of-it’s-kind public-private partnership in Northwest Arkansas and a case study for thoughtful infill with green space, sustainable infrastructure, and community-oriented design.
