Community Changes Lives

Founded in 1964, Ozark Literacy Council (OLC) has been providing free literacy resources and programs to adults in Northwest Arkansas for decades. OLC works to ensure students are welcomed and empowered as they build their literacy skills to connect and communicate with the community.

OLC's programs expand far beyond Adult Basic English classes and tutoring, as OLC has built a comprehensive career pathway program that includes Integrated Education and Training (IET), Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE™), digital literacy, financial literacy, civics, and career coaching.

These programs help adults learn English while earning industry recognized credentials that lead directly to employment and long term career advancement. Behind every learner is someone who is building stability, hope, and opportunity. When adults learn English, build digital skills, and earn workforce credentials, they gain confidence, independence, and the ability to create a stronger future for their families.

OLC plans to continue to expand free literacy and workforce programs so that every adult in the community has the chance to learn, work, and thrive. These opportunities are made possible by generous community members like you.
