Who We Are

NWA Space and Science Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sparking curiosity about the world around us and beyond. We provide learning opportunities to explore space and science—both big and small—by enhancing local education programs, engaging our community, and raising awareness of STEAM careers.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build a thriving Science Center in NWA that supports creative and curious minds of all ages, fostering a lifelong passion for learning. We also aim to restore a piece of history by restoring the Breashear Telescope, built in 1911, and digitizing historical documents and photographs.

Supporting Our Local Libraries

Looking through a telescope to explore the universe is an awe-inspiring experience for all ages. You can be a part of something amazing by helping place telescopes in 11 libraries across NWA by summer, giving your community the opportunity to check out a telescope from a local library to explore galaxies, planets, stars, and everything in between.

$350 puts 1 telescope in a local library in NWA

Passing Our Goal

We're not done yet. Beyond helping to place telescopes in 10 local libraries, any money raised surpassing our goal will be put towards education programs for our local schools in NWA.

Together, we have the power to ignite NWA’s spark for curiosity, creativity, and the endless possibilities of learning.
