Northwest Arkansas has become a hub for musical entertainment on an international level, bringing in billions of dollars in revenue to venues and towns, but we are still seeing self-employed musicians struggle with a basic “minimum wage, little to no affordable healthcare, no life insurance, no plan for emergencies. 

At Northwest Arkansas Musicians Connection, we believe that music is mental health, and the health and wellbeing of our local musicians should be preserved and promoted. 

In June 2023, we announce the building of The Northwest Arkansas Music Hall of Fame. 

Hall of Fame inductees represent those who have made a significant contribution to the development and advancement of the music industry in Northwest Arkansas. It is our goal through the ceremonies and nominations/inductions to recognize and archive our rich past, preserve the legacy of the present, and encourage the future of musicians and music industry workers that call NWA home. 

Proceeds raised from HoF and other NWAMC events will go directly to The NWAMC Health & Wellness Fund. 

Success could be defined as being able to do what you love to do every day, or having a million followers on social media, making enough money to say you have a “real job” in the music industry. 

But the real success of a community is the celebration of each other, being able to preserve the history of those that blazed the trails before us and recognize and trust the potential for the future. To be sustainable within your own environment and knowing that it takes the entire community working together to do so. 

Through our Social Impact Program, we’ve dedicated monthly resource awareness campaigns that collaborate with other local, regional and national nonprofit organizations to provide emergency medical, financial, shelter and food needs for Northwest Arkansas musicians and entertainment gig workers.
