Grace’s Toy Closet was founded in loving memory of Caroline and Aaron Hopper’s daughter, Grace, who passed away on June 8, 2023 after heroically fighting leukemia for 16 months. Playing with new toys brought Grace much happiness during her time in the hospital, despite the terrible circumstances.

Grace's Toy Closet is dedicated to serving children who are receiving treatment for cancer and blood disorders at Arkansas Children’s Northwest Hospital by providing carefully selected toys and activities that enhance their hospital experience. Through the transformative power of play—an essential part of childhood development—we aim to bring joy, comfort, and a sense of normalcy to young patients. We believe that every child deserves moments of happiness, even during challenging times, and we are committed to making a positive impact on their healing journey.

Here's how your gift can make a real impact:

$25: Provides a toy for a clinic check-up appointment.

$50: Provides several toys for a child’s inpatient stay in the hospital.

$100: Provides an “End of Treatment” gift for patients that have gone into remission. These are given after they ring the bell!

Every time I hear stories about patients who have received toys thanks to our organization and whose time in the hospital was made a little better, I remember how important the power of play was for Grace while she was in treatment. Every child deserves to get to be a kid – even when theyhave cancer and are in the hospital.
