DID YOU KNOW?

Every year, over 20,000 youth age out of the foster care system in the United States. Shockingly, 20% of them become homeless immediately. They are thrust into the world with few resources and face unimaginable risks.

GetREAL, a program of the Fort Smith Children’s Shelter, provides safe housing, life skills education, and personalized support for young adults ages 18-21 who are navigating these difficult transitions. Our program empowers members to build stable, independent futures through financial literacy classes, job coaching, education assistance, and essential life skills like cooking, budgeting, and driving lessons.
