Fayetteville Parent Teacher Cooperative

The Fayetteville Parent Teacher Cooperative (FPTC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving the Fayetteville Public School district in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Our mission is to ensure an equitable public school experience for students, families and staff. Since 2021, we have partnered with PTO and PTA volunteers across the district to support their efforts.

We encourage communication among all PTO and PTA Presidents in Fayetteville. They share a common goal of supporting their schools, staff, students and families. We created a GroupMe to help them share ideas, ask questions, and get feedback from each other.

We have awarded $8,700 in grants to PTOs and PTAs since 2023. These grants allow us to help close the gap between PTO/PTA goals and their budget constraints. Our grants have funded requests for student incentives, staff appreciation meals, drinks and snacks, student field trips, and field day supplies, among others.

We help connect PTOs and PTAs with local businesses and restaurants to provide free or discounted meals for teachers and staff. We also create and share sign ups for PTOs and PTAs when they need items for staff appreciation events.

We provide organizational support for PTOs and PTAs that are new or lacking in parent involvement. We have covered the cost of IRS and SOS fees for newly-formed organizations.

We streamlined the scholarship process for every PTO and PTA by combining all applications into one. Not only did this create consistency among PTO and PTA scholarship questions, it also simplified the application process for seniors who can now apply for up to five scholarships at once. Every PTO and PTA in the district now offers at least one $500 scholarship, from the elementary level up to the high school level.

We coordinated the donations of water bottles to students in need at two schools; a free lunch for bus drivers on School Transportation Appreciation Day during Covid; and bouquets of flowers to administrative assistants to brighten their days.
