Canopy NWA, founded in 2016, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to welcoming and resettling refugees in Northwest Arkansas. Since its inception, Canopy has helped over 950 individuals rebuild their lives, providing essential support and fostering a sense of belonging. Canopy exists to ensure that refugees—people forced to flee their homes due to war, persecution, and violence—not only find safety but also thrive in their new community by offering resources, advocacy, and long-term support through The Long Welcome program.

The Long Welcome is more than a program--it's a promise.

The Long Welcome aims to provide clients with career advancement, youth programs, maternal healthcare, and community connections to help our new neighbours become full contributing members of our community within 5 years of arrival in the US. 

This year, thanks to three generous Canopy donors, your gift will be matched 1:1 up to $17,500. Our goal is to raise $35,000 total. If you and others who care about refugees raise $17,500, these donors will match that amount—doubling your impact for families who are working hard to learn new skills, secure jobs, and support their families.

Today, we serve over 750 individuals who are eligible for The Long Welcome program. Join us in turning hope into action.

Canopy NWA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 2016 by Northwest Arkansas residents who sought to create a place of refuge for people fleeing persecution due to race, membership in a particular social group, political opinion, religion, or national origin.
